Zac Efron

Zachary David Alexander Efron is an American actor and singer that was born on October 18, 1987, in San Luis Obispo, California. He is 25 now. He is the son of Starla Baskett, a former secretary, and David Efron, an electrical engineer. He has a brother, called Dylan, who is 4 years younger. 

Zac took his first step toward acting at the age of 11 when his parents took note of his singing ability. Singing lessons soon led to an appearance in the production of "Gypsy" that ran 90 performances and he was hooked. He did another acts like "Peter Pan" and "The Music Man". He was recommended to an agent in Los Angeles by his drama teacher, Robyn Metchik and Efron was later signed to the Creative Artists Agency.

Before movies, Zac made a few participations in series like Firefly, ER, The Guardian and Summerland. In this last one, he became a regular cast member. After that, in 2004, he played Steven Morgan, one of two autistic twins in the movie "Miracle Run". For his performance, he was nominated for a Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Movie. His next movie was in 2005, when he played the main character in the movie "The Derby Stallion". Then Zac Efron had guest roles on the TV shows CSI: Miami, NCIS, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and The Replacements.

Finally, in 2006, he performed the Disney's movie High School Musical, that gave him a lot of recognition among teenage audiances. The movie gave him and his songs a lot of awards, until the rumours about his voice. People were saying that he wasn't the one singing and, in fact, they were right. For the first movie Zac's voice were replaced by Drew Seeley's one. It wasn't because he couldn't sing, it was because his voice wasn't getting to the tone they wanted. But for the other movies from the trilogy, Zac sang normally.

As we said, High School Musical was so successful that Disney made two more movies. During the filming, Zac dated his co-worker Vanessa Hudgens. They were a symbol for teens love and most of the fans loved them together. But since not everything is a sea of roses, Zanessa broke up in December 2010.

After his success in High School Musical, in 2007 Zac got Link Larkin role on the movie based on a Broadway act called Hairspray. Then we finally got to hear his real voice. But unfortunately, the fans couldn't see him during the High School Musical tour that was happening on the same time as the filming of Hairspray.

When all the High School Musical stuff ended (2008), Zac got the role of Mike O'Donnel in 17 Again (2009), where he played the 17 year old version of Matthew Perry. On the first weekend, this movie got more than 20 million dollars. In the total, it was something around 64 million dollars and that only in the USA.

Trying to get rid of the image of a teenager singer who is still in high school, Zac signed to play a character in the movie Charlie St. Cloud. The film was released on July 30, 2010.

Following this, he did a movie called "New Year's Eve" with many actors such as Ashton Kutcher, Lea Michele, Halle Berry and Michelle Pfeiffer. Then he did the voice of a little boy in the animated movie "The Lorax" and then a movie of a book from Nicholas Sparks called "The Lucky One". Right now, Zac's been working in many movies that maybe can lead him to an Oscar. Like the movie "Are We Officially Dating?" that we are very excited to see.

Anyway, we love and support Zac Efron not only because of his very good looking, but also because of his personality and about what he thinks of the world. He's like everyone of us, he wants a better world for his children and he makes his part on it. And that's basically why we love Zac so much.
